Shred

Shredding old papers; bill, reports, statements. Things I will never need that have sat in my apartment draining my energy by their very existence. There is something beautiful about the colourful spaghetti that results. I've lost track of the garbage bags filled over the years with unnecessary papers. When can we just keep this stuff electronic. Paper should just be for things of value, it should acquire a sense of having earned a place of honour in our world. We only print that which we truly wish to keep. of course, mindless doodles can be kept as can half mad plans for world take over, the things we want our descendants to find and wander what we did with our spare time. Sure I can see the value of my bank statement to a future archaeologist, but right now this thing is a mortal oppression. I decide to stop shredding when it gets to 11PM so I don't annoy my neighbour.

Coughing. Still Sick 5 days after mystery flu/cold started. So annoying, anything which makes the meagre periods of socializing I can find can some guilt is a nuisance.

Had an idea for the story of the Comic Strip artist friend wants to work on with me. I write it up a bit if it doesn't get off the ground (otherwise you'll see a link to it).

Don't Think Ottawa Cat is likely to Call, should I wander to PH for a pop and bother bartender bud. Boredom and Loneliness keep me going out instead of working in. I need a conga line dancing around me to work proper. Maybe I need to find some place to station myself with the laptop.

1000 Words a day for a year is the content of at least 3 1/2 Novels. So Really if I can get up to that level of work, I should be doing Novels instead.

Digitized
a bunch of CD I had lying around finally. I keep buying ones here and there at music shows form musicians whose live work I enjoy and then they get stuck in a pile and forgotten. I want to bring that music into my regular iPod listening routine. What did I like about the work in the first place. Was a drunk or otherwise dealing with some unnatural bonhomie at the time or did they have some clever lyrics or haunting tune.

So Here some of the artists digitized:

Peelander Z (A Japanese Punk Band from New York. The live performance audience participation was great, although I wonder now if that how I screwed up my left arm for a year)

Sheesham and Lotus (local old school (think 19th and early 20th Century) performance) Catchy, racy stuff. Our great grands were real horndogs.

The Burning Hell. Caught them at the Artel once. LIked at least one of their tunes (turns out it has a lot of youtube play) so got I got the album. Haven't really listened to the rest yet.

Friendly Rich and the Lollypop People. Heard them once in the basement of some famous Toronto Hotel (maybe the Drake, maybe it's rival)... Really enjoyed and then Lo, we somehow invited them to perform at a special poetry slam festival in one of the little bergs outside town. Picked up "We need a new F- Word" and they sell their own bootlegs. I vaguely remember some Brass instrument player playing into Ice water for some reason, Damned If I can remember why now. Shouldn't Drink at these things.

Sienna Dahlen. Don't remember buying this but I like the Cry Me A River Cover. Must be Artel again. Less Booze Rocket CAT!

Oliver Schroer. His Camino Pilgrimage. Friend of a Friend. I like the Violin but I wonder about the Pilgrimage. I've met several people who have done it now, I wonder if its becoming one of those just touristy things. They only way to really find out would be to do it. Problematic for a bunch of reasons.

The Creepshow. Canadian Rockabilly Horror. Lots of Booze again, but on sober relistening not too bad. Band is still around.

Whisky Rabbi. Bitter Violin. Nasty stuff but definitely times that call for it, so it will get listenings.

Neko Case. Well known enough I don't really need to say anything. I want to meet Nurse Someday Soon though.

another CD I really don't remember getting and don't remember the music upon listening ether. Michelle McAdorey. WIll withhold Judgement till I figure this one out.

Random Picture time

A lot of people think this picture is a photoshop but there really is a giant Rubber Ducky floating around out there (I think it's the Netherlands but I'm not sure and I refuse to look it up). Just look up it, someone probably has home movies of the thing.

Here is my CoOccupant lurking in a box of more paper yet to be shred. Should I feel guilt over destroying her bed. (then again, she has pooped, on multiple occasions, in mine, so I still think she is ahead.)

I could babble abit about Sunward or the Fuller Memorandum but I haven't finshed ether yet. Blah. I guess it off to Bartender Buds Bar. Must Try Harder next time.

added a widget/gadget from Librarything to splash out books whose covers I like to stare at (and some of which I have actually read). Fun. Fun.

From His Geo Synchronous Scratching Post.

Rocket Cat is going to be a blog about things I dig (for example- Rockets and Cats) and not so much about personal travails. I've done the woe blog and shant be doing that again. Just cool stuff and maybe samples of writing. yep.

Posting the blogs inspiration pic- which is my current Desktop.
